Digital Transformation for Impact Food Group (THI Investment PE PortCo)

Role: Interim Transformation Director

Impact Food Group is a UK based contract catering company for UK primary and secondary schools.

Post Investment from THI, management was tasked to do a business, process & digital Transformation; Led the digital transformation as interim transformation director overseeing following activities providing oversight to PE fund/management and hands on work with middle management/vendors and additional consultants

  • Led the discovery of digital ecosystem
  • Operations & digital process mapping
  • Digital transformation strategy & requirements mapping across the operations
  • Request for proposal and supplier selection process for all systems accounting to around £1mn capex & opex spend
  • Multiple rounds of vendor negotiations towards finalising the right deals for the business , building system integration maps; saving around £500k for the business
  • Systems procured included Catering ERP Systems for Primary/Secondary Schools, Primary School Online Ordering System, Hospitality Ordering System, Health & Safety System, Till Systems across School sites, Middleware for System Integration, CRM System, End User Devices including Tablets & Totems
  • Team included PE fund, management, middle management, operations teams, 500 schools, additional consultants, 5+ vendors selected and around 15+ vendors during RFP totalling 50+
  • Implementation of the digital transformation
  • Building and executing communications to various stakeholders around digital transformation
  • Consideration of impact to wider business including Integration of brands and digital landscape through previous acquisitions
